Provo Civic Ballet presents “PCB Signatures” March 17th 7:30 pm

*This is a repertoire performance with choreography showcasing Provo Civic Ballet Company (official pre-professional company of Classical Ballet Academy), directed by Jennie Creer-King.  This performance will present a wide range of classically-based work including “Birthday Variations” an Arpino Ballet, presented with permission of The Gerald Arpino Foundation, La Bayadere “Kindgom of the Shades” staged by Jennie Creer-King, and a world premeire contemporary work by Lindsay Folkman.

Tickets are $15. Reserved Seating. Audience members must not be younger than 6 years old.  There will be no discounted tickets for children or seniors.  All students of Classical Ballet Academy will receive a 2-for-1 voucher for this performance.  All students must be accompanied by a parent.       

                                   

Classical Ballet Academy presents their Spring Concert ”The Land of Oz” April 20th and 21st at 7:30 pm

Performance length: 1 hour and 45 minutes, with a 15 minute intermission.

*This concert presents Levels 4 through 8 at Classical Ballet Academy performing the original choreography of ”Vivaldi Four Seasons”  directed and choreographed by Jennie Creer-King.  After intermission the “Daddy Daughter Dance” will perform, followed by “The Land of Oz” choreographed by Lindsay Folkman featuring the contemporary program at Classical Ballet Academy.

 

Children’s Program Performance Year End Demonstrations 2011

Demonstration performances will be held on the last day of their class in May.

These performances will demonstrate a set class and accomplishments of skills gained from the class syllabus.  There will also be a short and simple choreography presentation. Girls will need to wear pastel pink leotards, pink footed ballet tights, and pink leather ballet slippers.  Hair must be worn in a bun. Hair may be decorated with ribbons and flowers. Boys will need black shorts, white t-shirt, black leather ballet shoes.  Parents may video the demonstration performance as long as it does not disrupt the dancers.

  • Please have dancers arrive 30 minutes early to the studio.

Demonstration Performance Mission and Content Goals

  • Showcase the technical improvement of each student in the class while building up their performance confidence
  • Keep the time spent in preparation and actual performance time under 1 1/2 hours for each class
  • Showcase each individual class in the Childrens’ Program
  • Keep the cost to a minimun for both the studio and the parents
  • Allow, through the technique presentation, for each child to show the strengths of what they have learned in class during the 9 month program
  • Prepare the skill level of the dancers to graduate to the Intensive Division at Classical Ballet Academy and be ready for main stage productions
